Germany’s Meyer Werft has started construction on Norwegian Cruise Line’s new Breakaway Plus vessel, Norwegian Bliss, with a steel cutting ceremony at its shipyard in Papenburg.
The 165,600gt and 324m-long ship will be able to accommodate 4,200 guests, based on double occupancy, and can cruise at a speed of 22.5k.

The luxury vessel will feature several options across different areas within the cruise for families.
In addition, the ship will have studios situated throughout the ship to accommodate single travellers. Passengers will also avail other facilities onboard, including a wellness centre in an exclusive area called The Haven.

By GlobalDataUnder a €1.4bn deal signed in October 2012, Norwegian Bliss is the second of two Breakaway Plus class cruise ships to be delivered to the Norwegian Cruise Line by Meyer Werft.
The luxury vessel is scheduled to be delivered in the spring of 2017.
The ship marks the twelfth cruise ship to be constructed by Meyer Werft for Norwegian Cruise Line.
