Corvus Energy, a company based in Canada, has signed a deal with Wärtsilä to supply a lithium ion-based energy storage system (ESS) for a hybrid ferry being built by Wärtsilä.
The ferry, which will be capable of carrying up to 178 vehicles and more than 1,000 passengers, is being built for Wightlink Ferries, a company based in the UK.
