In addition, GE has announced it has received approval in principle (AiP) for its newly developed 20,000 twenty foot equivalent unit (TEU) container ship design, which will be powered by a GE combined gas turbine electric and steam (COGES) system.

Developed in partnership with Dalian Shipbuilding Industry, the design will enable increased container carrying capability, lower life cycle cost, and improved environmental performance.

The COGES will be developed on the basis of GE’s dual-fuel gas turbine, which meets the global environmental regulations and helps reduce operating costs.
