Raytheon has launched its new subsidiary Raytheon Anschuetzu USA in a bid to expand the presence of Anschütz navigation systems in the US.

The venture is intended to support the full portfolio of Raytheon Anschütz’s navigation components and solutions.

The range includes gyro compasses, autopilots and steering controls, radars, electronic chart display and information systems, and a complete integrated bridge system.

Raytheon Anschuetzu president Frank Christophersen said: "In January 2012, Raytheon Anschütz returned to the US navigation systems market with the establishment of a San Diego-based regional sales office.

"We are taking the next step to becoming America’s new centre of navigation excellence."

Raytheon is expected to serve commercial ship owners and shipyards, as well as government entities such as the Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, navy and army, through this new development.

Currently, more than 35,000 vessels worldwide are equipped with Raytheon Anschütz navigation systems.

Moreover, the new company will offer technical advice and pre-sale consultancy regarding International Maritime Organization recommendations, class requirements and operational needs, along with a range of lifecycle support services.

Raytheon Anschütz USA will be located at the company’s Integrated Defense Systems’ San Diego facility.

The company’s services network spans US coastlines through a centralised spare-parts and service coordination centre, and also with a network of more than 50 service points.
