Offshore support vessel operator Topaz Energy and Marine has commissioned its new emergency response and recovery vessel (ERRV).

The new-build, Topaz Responder, was constructed by Topaz Engineering, Topaz Energy and Marine’s sister company in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi.

The 51m-long vessel with a deadweight of 775t is designed to offer safety support to offshore installations, along with general offshore support services.

Features of the vessel include on-board medical treatment and recovery facilities, as well as firefighting and oil recovery capabilities.

It is also equipped with two 15-man, rapid deployment craft that can be deployed from the vessel’s deck to the water within a minute.

In addition, Topaz Responder is equipped with dynamic positioning Class 1 capability and two Caterpillar 3512B engines.

The vessel will be capable of accommodating 300 people and has a fully equipped treatment room.

Topaz Energy and Marine also plans to launch a multi-purpose support vessel (MPSV) mid-year, while a 150t bollard pull anchor-handling tug supply vessel (AHTSV) is expected to be added into its fleet in late 2016.
