Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding will install the equipment on board two large, modern MPSVs, currently under reconstruction by the shipbuilder.

Both ships feature Wartsila’s Ship Design (WSD) 1000 MPSV design. Each 88.8m-long vessel has a deadweight of 5,200t and a deck area of 1,005m³.

PG Flow Solutions international sales vice-president Are Hjertvik said: “We have previously delivered the same type of cargo handling system and equipment to a large number of OSVs at Fujian Mawei, and to this design specifically, back in 2014-2015, which is actually the last time we saw contracting of newbuilds for this type of large MPSVs.

“The vessels are modern, highly flexible and cost-efficient, and our cargo handling system is designed to meet the same criteria.”

The vessels will be used to supply stores, materials and drilling equipment to offshore platforms, lay-barges and vessels, and other offshore units.
