Italian shipbuilding group Fincantieri has secured a deal from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings to build four next generation ships.
An investment of around €800m per ship has been made as part of the contract, to be delivered at a rate of one per year from 2022 to 2025.

Also included in the agreement is an option for two additional ships, to be delivered in 2026 and 2027.
The four new 140,000t ships will be deployed under the Norwegian Cruise Line brand, and will each accommodate around 3,300 guests.
The ships will be built on the basis of the brand's latest Breakaway-Plus Class ship design and will feature several other innovative designs.

The company also noted that it has already obtained export credit financing to fund 80% of the contract price of each ship delivered through 2025, subject to certain conditions.
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings previously entered into an agreement with Fincantieri for a new ship in March last year.
The vessel is planned a sister ship to the cruise line’s new Seven Seas Explorer, and is currently scheduled to be delivered by 2020.
