This initiative is expected to transform Carrix’s operations by streamlining compliance processes and improving overall performance.

HCLTech will implement its advanced suite of AI of Things (AIoT) technology platforms, leveraging automation, AIoT, and Vision AI, under the agreement.

The integration of AIoT platforms will provide real-time insights to optimise workflow, productivity, and asset health monitoring.

Carrix CIO Jim Downing said: “As we continue our digital transformation journey, we are confident that HCLTech’s AI-led capabilities, customer-centric approach and partner ecosystem will help us achieve the desired outcome of improving safety and efficiency of our port operations.”

The VisionX AI Edge, HCLTech’s AIoT technology platform, will be integrated with Carrix’s network of cameras, in-vehicle fleet management systems, and sensors.

This will generate actionable insights through real-time dashboards, improving worker safety, situational awareness, and operational efficiency, HCLTech stated.

The implementation will begin in Carrix’s Mexican ports, with the potential to expand across its network in North and South America.

HCLTech MEGA Industries and Americas chief growth officer Ajay Bahl said: “We are proud to partner with Carrix to help modernise its global port network and achieve higher standards for safety, compliance and efficiency.

“We look forward to working alongside Carrix as it leverages AI to transform its international business operations.”

In 2023, Carrix expanded North American presence with acquisition of Ceres Terminals from Macquarie Infrastructure Partners III.
