UK-based maritime navigation, surveillance and security radar systems provider Kelvin Hughes has provided two more radar systems to the Port of Marseille Fos in Southern France.

The supply was a part of a contract signed for the second phase of a radar system installation with the port.

Under the deal, the two radar systems, which are identical in nature, have already been installed and commissioned at the Port of Marseille Fos.

In April this year, Kelvin Hughes supplied five SBS-700 radar systems, which were incorporated with the port's vessel traffic management system (VTMS).

The company noted that its SBS-700 radar system, which features a high dynamic range, a low-noise front end and a FET modulator, has been designed according to the requirements of a vessel traffic services (VTS) system, as defined in IALA recommendation V-128.

Featuring an improved magnetron transmitter, each X-band system supplied by the radar system will include a combination of the SBS 700-1, single transceiver, and the SBS 700-2, dual redundant transceiver.
