Australia-based Incat Crowther has secured a contract from an undisclosed Central American operator to design a monohull passenger ferry to expand their operation.The 63m-long vessel will have the capacity to accommodate 650 passengers.
The vessel is powered by five MTU 16V400M63L engines, equipped with ZF-7650 gearboxes and propelled by five Hamilton HM-811 jets, enabling a service speed of 37k.

Additionally, two 150ekW generator sets will provide the vessel with electricity and a 200hp bow thruster will allow for smooth operations.
The vessel’s main deck will feature four passenger loading stations, a large cabin holding 286 first-class seats, 20 lounge seats, and four handicap accommodation seating areas.
The main deck will also feature a kid’s play area with surrounding seating. The mid deck will have a cabin featuring 144 first-class seats and 32 lounge seats.
The aft deck will consist of a cargo room with cargo loading gates, with the ability to fit a portable conveyor belt for efficient loading and unloading.

By GlobalDataIn addition, the aft deck will feature two restrooms, for men and women, as well a third for the physically disabled.
Forward of the cabin is the raised wheelhouse, with wing control stations on port and starboard sides.
The vessel features additional amenities such as a mini bar located in the centre of the arrangement with a stage for entertainment behind the cabin.
In 2013, Incat Crowther signed a contract to design three 42.5m monohull dive support vessels, with Sistac Vitória delivered in the first quarter of 2014.
