Technical solutions provider Drew Marine has acquired UK-based marine safety and survival equipment supplier Ocean Signal for an undisclosed amount.
Ocean Signal will join Drew’s subsidiary ACR Electronics, which offers safety and survival technologies.

Once partnered, the firms will develop the next generation of survival products for the maritime, terrestrial, military and aviation markets, the company stated.
Ocean Signal managing director Alan Wrigley said: "This is an exciting time for Ocean Signal and ACR.
"This combination will allow Ocean Signal to expand its capabilities and together we will redefine safety and survival technology in order to save more lives around the world, which is the objective we are all working towards."
The companies’ new offering will include products such as a full range of emergency position indicating radio beacons, personal locator beacons, search and rescue transponders, AIS man overboard beacons, VHF radios, searchlights, rescue strobe lights, pyrotechnics and safety accessories.

Recently, the company launched the rescueME MOB1 and rescueME EDF1 electronic distress flare to add to its established portfolio of rescueME and SafeSea products.
