China’s Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group has signed a contract with Singapore-based Vallianz Holdings for the construction of four SPA60 vessels.
The vessels will be built at Sinopacific’s Zhejiang shipyard and are expected to be delivered between the end of this year and beginning of 2015.

Each 64m-long SPA60 is an anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel and can accommodate up to 28 people. They are available in shallow draft operation and can achieve service speed of up to 13k.
The vessels, which are fully functional and balanced, have been designed to be practical and durable in operation. They are expected to be used for future functions such as rescue operations.
The company said that the SPA60 vessels will complement Vallianz’s existing fleet of 29 modern offshore support vessels (OSVs).
Sinopacific chairman and CEO Simon Liang said: “This partnership is aligned with our strategy and I’m convinced that this will showcase the advantages of our product in the global market, boosted by this confidence of Vallianz and will further guarantee Sinopacific’s leading position in the OSV market segment.”

By GlobalDataClaimed to be one of the world’s largest OSV manufacturers, Sinopacific has so far delivered more than 160 OSVs, which are widely used in the most active oil exploration areas, such as the North Sea, West Africa, Gulf of Mexico and South East Asia.
In a separate development, the company has been contracted by Shenzhen Huawei Offshore Shipping Transport to build five offshore vessels.
Of the five vessels, three will be of AHTS SPA85L design and two of PSV SPP35ML design. Delivery of the vessels is expected to commence from February 2016 and run through the end of the year.
