Singapore’s Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) has contracted Jeppesen to develop and implement an integrated hydrographic management system (IHMS) over the next two years.

Aimed at advancing and protecting the country’s strategic maritime interests, the contract comes with an option for a three-year extension.

The Jeppesen IHMS has been designed to provide a range of multiple functionalities, such as bathymetric data handling, management and storage integrated with the company’s dKart Source Management system and dKart Office tools for electronic navigational charts (ENC) and paper chart production and maintenance.

Jeppesen’s dKart Office is an integrated suite of technological tools created to provide digital hydrographic offices with ENC production and maintenance, while enhancing navigational safety across the globe.

The Feature Object Database of the dKart suite will not only allow users to handle all feature objects as a single object but also to create multiple products, according to the company.

The IHMS also comprises a fully integrated digital source handling system that covers the full cycle from source registration to product release and maintenance and offers detailed traceability throughout the production line.

As part of the contract, Jeppesen will provide training for basic / advanced users and system and database administrators.
