BGOS- John Jacob

Barry Graham Oil Service (BGOS) has taken delivery of a new 205ft long aluminum monohull crew supply vessel, John Jacob, from Halimar Shipyard in the US.

The John Jacob crew supply vessel was designed by Incat Crowther and features an aft cargo deck of nearly 3,640ft², a dedicated DP equipment room and can carry loads of up to 450t.

Powered by four Cummins QSK 50 engines, rated at 1,800bhp each, John Jacob is an USCG Subchapter T approved vessel and is ABS-classed for DP-2 service.

The main deck cabin of the vessel can accommodate 72 passengers and the upper deck wheelhouse is fitted out with both forward and aft-facing control stations and control consoles.

The vessel’s hull can house several tanks, including 15,296gal of fuel, 17,484gal of transferable fuel, fresh water, gray water and sewage, while dual-purpose water tanks can carry up to 42,588gal of rig water or ballast.

John Jacob is capable of reaching a maximum speed of more than 32k and is equipped with three Thrustmaster 150hp tunnel bow thrusters, which combine with the four jets and a Beier Radio DP-2 control system for superior manoeuvrability.

Installed with a FiFi-1 firefighting system, including two FFS engine-driven pumps each with a 5,300gpm capacity, integral clutch assemblies and remote controlled monitors, the vessel’s electric power is generated from three Cummins 6CTA gensets rated at 185ekW.
