China Shipping Container Lines’s (CSCL’s) Hong Kong unit has ordered eight 10,000 teu vessels from two Chinese shipyards worth $754.2m.

The company will buy four vessels from China Shipbuilding & Offshore International and Dalian Shipbuilding Industry, along with four more vessels from China Shipbuilding Trading and Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group).

The order also includes an option of four more vessels, which will be split between Dalian Shipbuilding Industry and Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding.

The vessels are expected to be delivered in November 2013.
