Norwegian company Ulstein Design and Solutions has awarded a contract to Wartsila for the delivery of engines and exhaust gas cleaning systems for a new exploration cruise vessel.

The contractor will supply two six-cylinder Wärtsilä 20 engines combined with NOx Reducer (NOR) exhaust gas cleaning systems under the arrangement, in addition to two eigh-cylinder Wärtsilä 20 engines.

NOR is based on Wartsila’s selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology and has been designed in compliance with International Maritime Organisation’s (IMO) Tier III rules.

It also complies with various other Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) emission reduction requirements.

General Dynamics has awarded an additional contract to defence and security company Saab to provide Sea Giraffe AMB naval radars for the US Navy’s Littoral Combat Ships.”

The equipment is expected to be delivered by January 2018.

The 104m-long vessel was designed by Ulstein Design and Solutions and will be built in Jiangsu, China.

Kalmar has been awarded a deal by Noatum Container Terminal Bilbao to provide two rail-mounted gantry cranes (RMGs).

The two single-cantilever RMG cranes will be utilised for intermodal operation.

Each crane will be designed to feature a rotating trolley and Bromma YSX45E spreader for single container handling with a rated load of 41t.

Kalmar will also deliver a Terminal Logistics System (TLS) automation solution for supervised remote control as part of the agreement.

The equipment is expected to be delivered by the first half of 2019.

General Dynamics has awarded an additional contract to defence and security company Saab to provide Sea Giraffe AMB naval radars for the US Navy’s Littoral Combat Ships LCS 28 and LCS 30.

Saab’s Sea Giraffe AMB is a multi-role, medium-range, 3D surveillance radar system, which offers simultaneous air and surface surveillance capabilities.

The radar system is suitable for use in demanding naval environments, ranging from littorals to blue water operations.

Saab will carry out the construction of the US-military designation AN/SPS-77 radar systems in Syracuse, New York, US, and Gothenburg, Sweden.

The company has also received an additional contract, including options, to supply another 11 systems for the programme through to 2024.

Petronas LNG (PLL) has signed a two-year service agreement with Argo Engineering (Argo) and Eastport Marine (Eastport) to provide liquefied natural gas (LNG) ship-to-ship transfer services in Labuan, Malaysia.

The arrangement is expected to leverage PLL’s LNG product portfolio and Agro’s LNG shipping expertise, as well as Eastport’s bunkering and ship-to-ship operations expertise.

The collaboration will enable PLL to address new market requirements by providing extra LNG shipping solutions.

It will also allow the transfer of LNG between two vessels positioned alongside each other, in addition to providing greater flexibility during cargo delivery, especially for small-scale LNG requirements.
