India-based port developer Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has installed two new trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHDs) at its Hazira Port complex in the state of Gujarat.
Royal IHC were responsible for developing the 8,000m³ dredgers, which were built in accordance with APSEZ specifications.

The TSHDs were delivered to a team of Adani Group personnel in the Netherlands last month.
The dredgers arrived at Hazira Port after embarking on their maiden voyage through the Suez Canal.
They have been registered under the Indian flag and classified under Indian Register of Shipping.
APSEZ CEO Karan Adani said: “We at Adani are proud to dedicate the two new dredgers to the nation, taking our fleet strength to 19 dredgers.

The Hazira Port is strategically situated close to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) along the west coast of India and is capable of handling all types of cargo, including bulk, break-bulk, bulk liquid chemicals, petroleum products and edible oil, among others.
The port also offers easy trade services to destinations in Europe, Africa, America and the Middle East.
