The first E-Flexer RoPax ship is scheduled to begin operation on the Holyhead to Dublin route in early 2020, while the remaining two vessels are expected to be deployed on the Liverpool to Belfast route in 2020 and 2021.

All ships will be bigger than the company’s existing RoPax vessels.

Each vessel will be 215m-long with a freight capacity of 3,100 lane metres and the capability to accommodate 120 cars and 1,000 passengers.

Stena Line chief operating officer Peter Arvidsson said: “With continued investment in our fleet, we want to lead the development of sustainable shipping and set new industry standards when it comes to operational performance, emissions and cost competitiveness.”
