Miami-based architecture firm Arquitectonica has designed the new terminal that features a palm grove-inspired design concept.

The design is inspired by Miami Beach’s iconic palm trees and the island’s historical origins of coconut harvesting.

The rooftop of the terminal will be similar to a palm tree grove. The terminal will feature rooftop pockets for natural light to flow into the building in the day, while uplighting lights will light up the company’s logo at night.

The two-story storm-proof glass facility will have exclusive areas for drop-offs of VIP’s, ride-sharing and provisioning.

It aims to receive LEED Gold Certification from the US Green Building Council to meet with Virgin Voyages’ sustainability efforts.
