The Port of Kalama in the US has awarded a contract to Bergerson Construction with regard to work on the Port T-barge Facility Project.
Work on the project is set to start at the north end of the marina next week.

The $1.13m contract, which includes Washington sales tax, will involve demolition and removal of select timber and steel pipe piles.
As part of the contract, Bergerson will place new steel piles to prepare for placement of the T-barge purchased by the Port of Kalama for creating a commercial dock space.
Port of Kalama marketing manager Liz Newman said: “We want the public to be aware of the work going on at the north end of the marina so they can plan accordingly.
“The project is the first step to installing the Port’s long-planned commercial dock facility to better serve marine commerce.”

By GlobalDataAccording to the Port, the contract work will cover all labour, material, tools, equipment, permitting and supervision for the installation of components of the T-barge Facility Project.
Work also includes relocation of select steel pipe piles and existing log boom, installation of a new pier and gangway and paving a parking area.
Located in Southwest Washington on the Columbia River, the Port of Kalama is served by the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe and Union Pacific railroads.
It provides shovel ready sites, a new Industrial Park, Marine Terminals and transportation accessibility to rail and highway.
Bergerson’s marine projects include piledriving, seawalls, bulkheads, cofferdams, fender systems, bridge and pier structures, as well as floating structures.
