Technology company Triumph Subsea Services has signed a contract with Croatian shipbuilder Brodosplit for the construction of ST designed field development vessel (FDV).

The contract includes one initial vessel and with the option for three additional vessels.

The options will be executed upon the completion of the detailed engineering drawings and cutting of steel of the initial hull.

The initial ship, named FDV Chronos, has been allotted hull number 495.

FDV Chronos will undergo steel cutting in March-April 2021 with its delivery due in the last quarter of 2023.

The ships will be constructed and outfitted completely at DIV Shipbuilding Group’s owned Brodosplit facility in Split, Croatia.

The company said that FDV Chronos and its sister ships will be advanced Net Zero-compliant and future-proofed multi-purpose offshore construction vessels.

They will be able to offer full-package solutions for almost all subsea construction tasks that can arise within the offshore oil and gas, decommissioning, subsea telecoms, and renewables markets.

Triumph Subsea Services said: “Our commitment and goal was to have developed, built, and to be operating a truly Net Zero vessel fleet by 2035 or sooner. We believe that we are now well on our way to achieving these Net Zero goals by 2030 due to the numerous innovations and industry firsts incorporated in FDV Chronos.
