The company said that CLEANBU vessels are known for their design and demonstrate environmental performance, along with the technical and operational efficiency.

The vessels are both full-fledged LR1 product tankers and Kamsarmax bulk carriers.

CLEANBUs can transport clean petroleum products (CPP), heavy liquid cargoes, and all types of dry bulk products.

In comparison with standard vessels, CLEANBU vessels produce 40% less CO₂ per tonne mile transported cargo, which is in line with the International Maritime Organization’s 2030 targets for shipping.

MV Baiacu’s trading will be delayed because of the pandemic-induced travel restrictions and quarantine regulations, impacting the mobilisation of the crew.

In mid-February, MV Baiacu is expected to load its first cargo of clean petroleum products.

With the recent delivery, Klaveness Combination Carriers will now operate and handle a fleet of 15 combination carriers.

According to data provided by VesselsValue, two additional vessels, named Balzani and Bass, are scheduled to be supplied later this year.

On October 13, 2020, KCC received delivery of the MV Bangus, its fifth CLEANBU vessel.
