The JNPT at Navi Mumbai is claimed to be India’s ‘premier’ container handling port.

It handles nearly half of the total containerised cargo volume in the country.

Commissioned in 1989, JNPT is connected to more than 200 ports globally and currently runs five container terminals.

These include JNPCT, Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT), Gateway Terminals India (GTIPL), Nhava Sheva International Gateway Terminal (NSIGT) and Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals (BMCT).
