Germany-based container terminal operator EUROGATE has revealed plans to increase its labour force at the Wilhelmshaven deepwater port by 50%.
The initiative is expected to help EUROGATE handle the increased monthly container throughput at Wilhelmshaven port, which has doubled since May after two major alliances began calling at the terminal.

The company plans to increase its workforce at Wilhelmshaven from the current 400 to 600 personnel as part of the proposed drive.
EUROGATE also seeks to further improve its market position and provide advance handling performance for its customers.
The company is expected to require an additional 200 operational staff at the Wilhelmshaven site over the next two years in order to meet this goal.
EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven managing director Mikkel Andersen said: “Since the consolidation from four to three major alliances, our monthly handling figures have doubled and we are seeing a significantly increased level of interest in EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven, both regionally and supra-regionally.

EUROGATE is planning to launch an application procedure shortly and aims to complete the staff recruitment process as soon as possible.
