BGP and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) have taken delivery of GP Innovator, a dynamic positioning (DP) shallow-water special exploration ship surveyed and classed by the China Classification Society (CCS).

GP Innovator is said to be the first large DP shallow-water special exploration ship constructed for the companies by Dalian Lushun Binhai Shipping Repairing and Building.

CCS Dalian Branch extended its support to the shipowner, shipyard and design organisation during the construction of the ship.

In March, COSCO took delivery of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel very large crude carrier (VLCC), which was labelled as the world’s first such vessel by CCS.

It was constructed by the Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company (DSIC) in China.
