Built with an investment of $125m, the new 161,334ft² terminal is expected to accommodate more than 630,000 vacationers a year.

The terminal is claimed to be the world’s first LEED Zero Energy facility, meeting its energy requirements through the use of onsite solar panels.

To support the Destination Net Zero decarbonisation strategy, the design strategies at the terminal are in line with the environmental objectives of its Royal Caribbean Group parent company.

The new terminal is anticipated to create 800 new jobs as well as generate $1.4bn in local business services revenue.
