CMA CGM will choose the projects based on their maturity, economic feasibility, and concrete impact on the decarbonisation of the French shipping sector.

Some projects will secure shared investments from the public sector as well as private operators.

They will also ‘beneficiate from the assistance of shipping industry experts’, the shipping company said.

The firm has launched the call for projects in association with the French State Secretariat for the Sea, with applicants being allowed to submit their projects on the dedicated platform from 30 January.

Meanwhile, last month, the French liner struck a deal with Global Container Terminals (GCT) to purchase the GCT Bayonne and New York terminals.
