Norway’s TMC Compressors (TMC) has signed a contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) to provide a complete marine compressed air system to a new floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), to be operated by Höegh LNG and its partners.
Under the new deal, TMC will provide engineering and manufacturing services, as well as a complete compressed air system that include two 44kW service units and two 44kW control units.

HHI is currently building the FSRU, which will have a minimum regasification capacity of 750ft³ per day by next year.
A liquefied natural gas (LNG) import project in Pakistan will use the vessel, which has been developed by Global Energy Infrastructure (GEIL) in partnership with Qatar Petroleum, Total, Mitsubishi, ExxonMobil and Höegh LNG.
TMC Compressors managing director Per Kjellinsaid: “This is the eight or ninth FSRU that Hyundai Heavy Industries is building for Höegh LNG, and we have delivered marine compressed air systems to all of them.
“Repeat orders such as this for high-end vessels is a confirmation that both Höegh and Hyundai Heavy Industries value the reliability a fully marinised compressor technology like ours provides.
