Ukrainian officials said its Black Sea port at Odesa was damaged by a Russian drone strike early Monday morning, and grain export facilities in the region were damaged overnight.
The drone strikes came before and after the grain bulker Aroyat arrived in Istanbul, from Odesa, having avoided the Russian Navy’s Black Sea blockade.

Odesa’s mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov said the Odesa Maritime Terminal was “significantly” damaged, and images shared on Telegram show damage to warehouses and a hotel near the port.
In the early hours of Tuesday, another Russian strike hit another Ukrainian port.
The Danube port at Izmail in the south of the Odesa region was struck, with storage facilities and at least 30 cars destroyed. The port has become a crucial exit point for Ukrainian grain since Russia backed out of the Black Sea Grain Deal.
Oleh Kiper, governor of the southern Odesa region, said two people were hurt in the attack.

It is not the first time the Danube port has come under fire during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In August 40,000t of grain was lost in another drone attack.
