Top marine distress signal brand Pains Wessex is supporting leading maritime charity The Sailors’ Society through sponsorship and pedal power.

The UK-based charity offers practical and emotional support, financial assistance and family liaison to seafarers through its network of port chaplains and seafarers’ centres in 30 countries around the world.
Chemring Marine, the parent company of Pains Wessex, has agreed an advertising deal in the charity’s Chart and Compass magazine and is publicising The Sailors’ Society on the Pains Wessex website and with editorial coverage.

Jenny Boland, trust and corporate officer of The Sailors’ Society, said: “We are thrilled Chemring has identified the strong affinity between our organisations in protecting, saving and enriching seafarers’ lives. This partnership with Chemring Marine will enable us to further support seafarers as they arrive in port.”

Pains Wessex is also entering a team, led by sales director Justine Heeley, in the Deloitte and Sailors’ Society Cycle event in Southampton on Sunday 10 May. Justine said: “Fortunately it’s a leisurely cycle event rather than a race, although I’m sure there will be some friendly rivalry among our team members as to who can finish first.”
