Cochin Shipyard (CSL) has awarded a contract to ABB to supply an integrated power and automation package for its two new 1,200 passenger ferries.

ABB will install its Ability System 800xA automation platform on the ferries.

The platform will be completely integrated with distribution, propulsion and power generation systems on-board the vessels.

The scope of the contract also includes the supply of an integrated alarm, monitoring and control system (IAMCS), propulsion motors and drives, power management systems and propulsion control systems.

Aeolian Spirit Shipping has inked a memorandum of agreement (MoA) to purchase Ocean Forte, a Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier vessel, from Core Forte, an indirect subsidiary of Noble Group (NGL).

Transmed Shipping has also signed the agreement as a guarantor for the performance of Aeolian Spirit Shipping.

The partnership will promote the usage of eco-friendly vessels and will work towards solutions and regulations to benefit the environment.

The collaboration is intended to make the cruise industry more sustainable and emission-free.
