This third vessel in the Oasis-class is claimed to be the world’s largest cruise ship, and is scheduled to be launched in April next year.

Harmony of the Seas is a 361.79m-long and 46.93m-wide vessel, with a draft of 9.14m and a gross registered tonnage of 226,000t.

It will be powered by three 18,860kW Wärtsilä 16V46 16-cylinder main generator diesel engines, and three similar Wärtsilä 12V46 12-cylinder engines producing 13,860kW each.

Harmony of the Seas will feature 2,747 staterooms carrying 5,479 guests at double occupancy. Accommodation categories offered encompass Interior, Ocean View, Balcony and Suite / Deluxe staterooms.

The new 16-deck cruise ship is based on Royal Caribbean’s exclusive, seven neighbourhood design concept, constituting Central Park, Boardwalk, the Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Centre, Entertainment Place and Youth Zone.

Moreover, passengers will benefit from the Royal Promenade, an interior boulevard with restaurants, lounges and boutiques, among others.

During its first season, the cruise vessel will sail the Western Mediterranean from Barcelona, Spain, and reach its homeport of Fort Lauderdale in November 2016.

Meanwhile, STX France has started construction of Royal Caribbean’s fourth Oasis-class cruise ship at its shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
