Anglo-Eastern has selected Inmarsat’s NexusWave for the Hadley Shipping Group’s fleet upgrade, marking an enhancement in connectivity for the shipping company.

NexusWave offers a fully managed bonded connectivity solution tailored for modern shipping demands. It integrates high-speed connectivity with resilient bonded networks and global coverage.

This upgrade is expected to improve performance, enhance cybersecurity measures, and provide a scalable platform to meet future operational and crew welfare needs, according to Inmarsat.

Anglo-Eastern, an expert in technical ship management and digital innovation, initiated its multi-orbit connectivity strategy in 2023.

The implementation of NexusWave across various vessels under its management aligns with its objective to advance digital transformation, enhance cyber-resilience, and ensure reliable internet access for seafarers.

Anglo-Eastern chief information officer Torbjorn Dimblad said: “With NexusWave, we’re able to leverage secure, high-performance connectivity through a truly integrated multi-network approach.

NexusWave operates as a fully managed connectivity service, utilising advanced network bonding technology and intelligent orchestration across a multi-dimensional network.

It provides high-speed connectivity, unlimited data, and global coverage, with a ‘secure by design’ infrastructure.

The service ensures continuous connectivity by integrating multiple high-speed networks in real-time, including Global Xpress (GX) Ka-band, low-Earth orbit (LEO) services, and available coastal LTE service, supplemented by L-band for additional resilience.

In May this year, Inmarsat Maritime signed an agreement with Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) to transition MOL's fleet from the Fleet Xpress (FX) service to Inmarsat's NexusWave.
