Dutch communications, navigation and automation systems provider Radio Holland Group has entered a strategic agreement with Cisco to jointly develop and provide information and communications technology (ICT) solutions for the maritime sector.

Aimed at increasing digitisation in the seafaring industry, the partnership will develop and supply a new remote monitoring and diagnostics service, as well as on-board data management and networks.

Radio Holland Group chief operations officer Dennis Mol said: “In a challenging maritime market, it's Radio Holland’s drive to keep finding and developing solutions that reduce the ‘cost of ownership’ of vessels and improve the efficiency of ship’s operations.

“If a ship can’t sail because of technical problems, the costs incurred are substantial. Our customers are looking for innovative ways to make and keep the operations of their fleet more reliable, efficient and effective.
