China’s Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group yard has delivered two new anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels, designed by Wärtsilä, to China Oilfield Services (COSL).
Developed using Wärtsilä Ship Design’s VS 4612 design, the newly delivered vessels feature an optimised hull for minimal fuel consumption and for better environmental impact than other vessels.

The vessels have also been built according to COSL’s specific operational requirements.
COSL currently owns a fleet of offshore service vessels in China.

By GlobalDataLast year, COSL took delivery of four AHTS and two platform supply vessels (PSV), which were designed by Wärtsilä.
Wärtsilä won the deal to design the six ships in December 2012 and secured another deal for three new AHTS vessels in December 2014.
Last month, the company announced that it would provide a special external lighting system for a new cruise ship currently under construction at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
Named Genting Dream, the 150,000 gross register tonnage (GRT) vessel will be owned by Dream Cruises, a part of global leisure company Genting Hong Kong.
