MCN sales and marketing vice-president Song Zhen said: "Fleet Xpress with SAILOR antennas will open the way for Nanjing Tanker Corporation to exploit greater use of data and collaboration focused on ‘smart shipping’ applications, including video conferencing, remote vessel assistance / diagnostics, telemedicine, video surveillance and information management systems for maritime ‘big data’ applications."

”The contract is said to provide always-on, next generation high-speed broadband capability worldwide across the ships.”

The SAILOR 100 GX is an advanced three-axis stabilised Ka-band antenna system designed for the Inmarsat Global Xpress satellite network.

The light and compact antenna system uses a single cable between antenna and below deck equipment for radio frequency, power and data. It features the automatic azimuth calibration and automatic cable calibration, which reduces the installation time.

The SAILOR 60 GX is said to be the smallest, and lightest advanced antenna for the new Inmarsat Fleet Xpress High Throughput Satellite (HTS) maritime broadband service.

Based on the SAILOR VSAT technology, the antenna system is composed of composite materials like aluminium and is suited to operate in rough maritime conditions as well as deliver high bandwidth connectivity on Fleet Xpress.

The SAILOR 60 GX and SAILOR 100 GX antenna systems are expected to promote reliable and undisrupted Fleet Xpress communication services for crew, to allow them to maintain connection with their friends and family, and browse entertainment websites.
