Seattle-based naval architecture and marine engineering consultancy Glosten has acquired Noise Control Engineering (NCE) for an undisclosed sum.

NCE will continue its operations in Billerica, Massachusetts and Mobile, Alabama, and the clientele will still be operational as an independent group within the Glosten organisation.

As part of the acquisition agreement, there will be no changes in existing projects or in staff at both the firms.

The acquisition will integrate analytical and experimental approaches of Glosten with NCE’s practical, cost-effective solutions.

NCE president and founder Ray Fischer said this transition ensures the success of NCE over the long term.

Since its foundation in 1958, Glosten’s areas of expertise include naval architecture, ocean engineering, marine engineering, electrical engineering, and detail / production design.

NCE already shares many projects with Glosten. It has designed some of the quietest research vessels in existence for the US and foreign oceanographic agencies.

The firm specialises in noise and vibration control engineering services for the marine, industrial and commercial environments.According to the company, it provides cost-effective solutions to all types of acoustical problems.
