Norwegian e-navigation specialist Navtor and Sweden’s Nautic have teamed up to establish a joint business offering a complete navigational data package to the international shipping industry.

Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, the operation will be managed by Nautic charts and publications former sales manager, Henrik Bergius.

Johan Traung will assume the role of managing director of Nautic Holding, which will co-own the new entity, Navtor Nautic.

Navtor managing director and CEO Tor A Svanes said: “Navtor is focused on providing navigators with user-friendly digital solutions that reduce their administrative burden and enhance safety, while increasing efficiency for ship managers, owners and operators worldwide.

Navtor will operate separately from the new entity and will continue to market its e-navigation solutions.

Nautic is currently involved in the supply of maritime chart and publication in the Swedish market, while Navtor’s ENC service is subscribed to by more than 50% of the Norwegian fleet.
