Norwegian e-navigation specialist Navtor and Sweden’s Nautic have teamed up to establish a joint business offering a complete navigational data package to the international shipping industry.
Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, the operation will be managed by Nautic charts and publications former sales manager, Henrik Bergius.
Johan Traung will assume the role of managing director of Nautic Holding, which will co-own the new entity, Navtor Nautic.
Navtor managing director and CEO Tor A Svanes said: “Navtor is focused on providing navigators with user-friendly digital solutions that reduce their administrative burden and enhance safety, while increasing efficiency for ship managers, owners and operators worldwide.
“However, paper charts are still a vital piece of the navigational jigsaw and, to provide a ‘one stop shop’ for our customers, delivering all the data they require, we saw a strategic need to team up with a leading supplier.
“Our new joint business, Navtor Nautic AB, will put us in a position to serve the maritime industry in the most comprehensive, efficient and quality-focused way. It’s exactly what our customers want.”
