Previously, these services had been outsourced and the change is intended to enhance BMT’s environmental assessment and consenting offering, which includes statutory compliance, environmental impact assessments and decommissioning studies.

"Through the development of our own testing operations and facilities, we harness the internal control necessary to deliver consistent, high-quality service."

The laboratory has been certified to ISO 17025 standard by Indonesia’s national accreditation body, Komite Akreditasi Nasional (KAN).

BMT Asia Pacific Indonesia president and director Johnny Tjea said: "Opening the new laboratory represents a natural progression for BMT’s growing environmental study and monitoring business.

"Our customer relationships are built on trust and through the development of our own testing operations and facilities, we harness the internal control necessary to deliver consistent, high-quality service across our growing customer base."
