Spain-based shipbuilder Astilleros Armon has delivered two Incat Crowther-designed catamaran passenger ferries to Instituto Marítimo e Portuário de Angola.
The IMO HSC Passenger (A) certified and Angola-flagged ferries, named Macôco and Panguila, will be operated by TMA Express.

In addition, Astilleros Armon will supply a pair of 36m-long ferries to its customer as part of an infrastructure building project.
The Instituto Hidrográfico e de Sinalização Maritíma de Angola has also placed an order for a 20m-long Catamaran Buoy Workboat with the shipbuilder.
The new-build ferries have hard-wearing interiors and practical propulsion packages, and are capable of long-range operations while lowering maintenance costs.
They also feature mechanically operated fold-down, boarding ramps installed at the stern quarters, which lead directly into the main deck cabin, Incat Crowther said.

By GlobalDataThe 30.0m-long ferries will be able to accommodate 136 passengers and four crew members in the cabin.
Capable of offering a 360° visibility from its upper deck, the vessels include a bar and three bathrooms, one of which has disability access. They are powered by a pair of caterpillar C32 main engines and will have a maximum speed of 25k, able to produce 970kW.
