Australia-based naval architecture firm Incat Crowther has launched two catamaran passenger ferries, namely Mary Reibey and Annabelle Rankin, for Captain Cook cruises.
The ferries are the second and third in a series of 24m-long catamaran passenger ferries that have been built by Richardson Devine Marine. The first vessel, Elizabeth Cook, was launched last year.

Elizabeth Cook currently operates in the Sydney Ferry Network, including the low wash and shallow water zones on the Parramatta River and across Sydney Heads to Manly.
During the development of this new class of vessels, the company aimed at reducing through-life operating costs, including a focus on low fuel usage and reduction of on-going maintenance costs.
About 198 passengers can be accommodated on Mary Reibey and Annabelle Rankin, which has interiors and exteriors that are optimised for the best use of space.
The company has paid special attention to safety, specifically pilothouse visibility, which makes the two vessels an improvement over the previous vessel in the series.

By GlobalDataThe vessels can carry up to 127 passengers in 1C coastal operation and 198 passengers in 1D/1E harbour operation.
They will be run by a pair of Scania DI13 070M main engines and will cruise at a speed of 25k with a top speed of 27k.
