Greece-based GasLog has announced that its newbuild liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, to be named GasLog Wellington, has commenced sea trials in South Korea.
Presently known as SN2311, the carrier is being constructed at the Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) shipyard in South Korea.

The new vessel has been equipped with X-DF low-pressure, two-stroke main engines as well as GTT Mark III Flex Plus cargo containment systems.
It has the capacity to carry around 180,000m³ of chilled fuel.
In a statement on social media, GasLog noted that the trials are slated for completion on May 1. The vessel is expected to be delivered in mid-June.
Once delivered, the newbuild LNG carrier will be chartered to Cheniere Energy.

By GlobalDataGasLog and Cheniere Energy signed charter deals for two 180,000m³ LNG carriers, namely the SN2311 and SN2312, in December 2018.
Both the carriers have been chartered for a period of seven years.
On January 16 this year, SHI launched the SN2312 newbuild carrier.
The vessel, which will be named GasLog Winchester, is expected to be supplied in August.
This carrier will also be equipped with GTT Mark III Flex Plus cargo containment systems and X-DF low-pressure, two-stroke main engines.
GasLog owns, operates and manages LNG carriers globally, as well as offering support to energy corporations as part of the LNG logistics chain.
The combined GasLog fleet features as many as 35 LNG carriers, of which 17 are owned outright by the company.
