Japan-based shipbuilder Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) has delivered a bulk carrier named World Prosper for Astraea Maritime.

With an 82,000 deadweight tonnage (dwt) capacity, the vessel was delivered at Nantong Cosco KHI Ship Engineering (NACKS).

Located in China’s Nantong City, NACKS is jointly run with China COSCO Shipping Corporation.

With an overall length of 228.9m, World Prosper has a moulded breadth of 32.24m, moulded depth of 20.2m and moulded draft of 14.5m.

The vessel has been equipped with one main MAN B&W 6S60ME-C8.5 diesel engine.

It features a gross tonnage of 43,987t and deadweight of 82,065t. With a hold capacity of 97,760m³, the ship can sail at a speed of 14.2k.

World Prosper can accommodate 25 crew members.

The vessel has been classified by Lloyd’s Register of Shipping (LR) and registered at Panama.

According to the company, the bulk carrier has been designed to transport grains, coal, and other products. For this purpose, the vessel has been loaded with a flush deck with a forecastle and seven holds.

For improved propulsion performance, the ship features high propulsive efficiency propellers, the Kawasaki rudder bulb system with fins (RBS-F), as well as a semi-duct system with contra fins (SDS-F).

In addition to an electronically controlled main diesel engine, World Prosper features several energy-saving technologies to minimise emissions and fuel consumption.

Earlier this month, the shipbuilder delivered a bulk carrier Sabrina Fair for Hawk Marine Corporation.

With a capacity of 61,000dwt, Sabrina Fair is 199.9m-long, 32.24m-wide and 18.6m-deep.

The vessel’s gross tonnage is 34,515t and has a deadweight of 61,215t. It has a hold capacity of 77,539m³ and can accommodate 25 crew members.
