The annual report for the DESMI group was approved at its annual general meeting.

The report shows an annual turnover of kr900m and a profit for the year amounting to kr56.8m before tax and kr43.2m after tax. The year shows growth in top and bottom line, and as the profit also exceeds the expectations, it is considered very satisfactory. After payment of dividend, an amount of kr10.2m will be retained for continued consolidation of the group.

Group CEO Henrik Sørensen says: “Growth in turnover in our core business reflects the market development, and especially supplies of pumps to scrubber system manufacturers have been the driver for growth in turnover in the marine and offshore segment late in 2018.

“Our combined and dedicated focus on sustainability / green products and solutions supports our overall growth, whether it comes to high-efficient pump solutions for the scrubber manufacturers, ballast water management systems, automation or the ‘waste to energy’ concept of removing plastic waste and trash from our waterways.

“The activities within ballast water management systems have just started for real with the third generation system, CompactClean. This newly launched system is expected to contribute to DESMI’s further growth, and we have already signed frame agreements for delivery of systems for entire fleets with several well-reputed ship owners. The strong growth in our order intake in the last part of 2018 has resulted in a necessary expansion of our capacities and increased the expectations for more significant growth in 2019.”
