North America extended its dominance for machine learning hiring among ship industry companies in the three months ending October.

The number of roles in North America made up 59 per cent of total machine learning jobs – up from 56.9 per cent in the same quarter last year.

That was followed by South & Central America, which saw a -0.4 year-on-year percentage point change in machine learning roles.

The figures are compiled by GlobalData, who track the number of new job postings from key companies in various sectors over time. Using textual analysis, these job advertisements are then classified thematically.

That was followed by the United Kingdom (up 1.6 percentage points), Germany (up 1.3), and Denmark (up 0.7).

Some 9.8 per cent of all ship industry machine learning roles were advertised in San Francisco (United States) in the three months ending October - more than any other city.

That was followed by Chicago (United States) with 9.8 per cent, Pune (India) with 7.1 per cent, and Copenhagen (Denmark) with 4.2 per cent.
