As part of the 12-month partnership, the companies have developed two artificial intelligence solutions.
As more than 90% of Finland export pass through the ports, ship and port logistics development is necessary.
The companies have developed machine learning solutions that improve ports’ situational awareness with the help of freight and logistics chain analysis.
Cargo ship arrival time solution based on machine learning provides the time of arrival, offering an accurate and reliable estimation of the arrival and departure compared to other existing systems.
The partners said that the solution increases predicted arrival time by approximately 80%.
The second solution studies and monitors cargo and vehicles in ports using computer vision in real-time. It automates manual analysis, accelerates cargo logistics planning and improves possible exceptional situation detection.
Awake.AI CEO Karno Tenovuo said: “The development in ports requires cooperation with various stakeholders such as shipping companies, cargo owners, terminal operators and logistics companies.
Everything is based on trust and we want to be the most trusted platform and ecosystem orchestrator globally.
“With Silo.AI’s top-notch expertise in AI, we have been able to scale and develop our multiple products for ports and shipping.”
Silo.AI CEO Peter Sarlin added: “We are delighted to work with Awake’s team that has such a strong background in the maritime field.
“In addition to their platform, their expertise as a pioneer in the development of autonomous vessels and the maritime ecosystem offers various opportunities to create value through machine learning and other artificial intelligence technologies.”
The two companies plan to extend their collaboration to develop predictive analytics and maintenance, as well as other machine learning applications.
