Cyprus-based shipping firm Castor Maritime has taken delivery of two vessels, namely M/T Wonder Bellatrix and M/V Magic Callisto.

On 7 December 2021, the firm agreed to purchase M/T Wonder Bellatrix, a 2006 Korean-built Aframax LR2 tanker.

The agreement to acquire M/V Magic Callisto, a 2012 Japanese-built Panamax dry bulk carrier, was reached a short time later on 20 December 2021.

Both of the acquisitions were completely backed with cash on hand.

Additionally, the firm signed new charter agreements for two further ships.

M/V Magic Horizon, a 2010 built Panamax dry bulk carrier, was fixed on a time charter contract at an average daily charter rate of $20,100.

This charter started on 20 December 2021 and is due to continue for 100 days.

The 2010 built Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier M/V Magic Venus was also chartered at a gross daily charter rate of $29,000.

This contract came into force on 30 December 2021 and is set to continue for 25 days.

Last month, Castor Maritime signed an agreement to acquire a 2012 Japanese-built Panamax dry bulk carrier for $23.55m through a separate wholly-owned unit.

With an aggregate capacity of 2.5 million dwt, Castor currently owns 29 vessels.

These include one Capesize, seven Kamsarmax and 12 Panamax dry bulk vessels, as well as one Aframax, six Aframax/LR2 and two Handysize tankers.
