French shipping and logistics company CMA CGM Group has launched eSolutions to facilitate the digital transmission of information between the company and its customers.

The eSolutions comprise an online agency and other e-commerce channels such as Electronic Data Interchanges (EDI) and Application Programming Interfaces (API) to digitise the customer experience.

Most bookings of the CMA CGM Group are already being made through its eCommerce solutions and half are through the web platform. CMA CGM eSolutions will enable customers to experience a 100% digital journey when they choose the company to transport their goods.

CMA CGM had earlier developed and launched digital solutions, including schedule research, quotation requests, booking, shipping instructions, documentation, shipping dashboard, and tracking.

The company is offering a new sales channel for its clients to simplify their journey and allow them to strengthen productivity and develop their business.

The eSolutions offers new features such as ePricing, eBooking, eBill of Lading, eTracking of cargo, ePayment, and eCharges.

New features are currently available at a regional or global level and will be rolled out on the group’s different brand platforms.

To improve customer experience with CMA CGM and its subsidiaries over the coming months, the company will launch more features such as insurance products, new mobile application features, as well as enhancements and feature updates.

“Digitisation has been identified as a key strategic priority for the development of the group.”

As part of the eSolutions, CMA CGM will offer priority boarding to its customers using its digital platform. This feature will initially be offered from India to Europe and later to other countries and carriers within the group.

According to CMA CGM Group chairman and CEO Rodolphe Saadé, digitisation has been identified as a key strategic priority for the development of the group.

The group’s digital strategy includes internal expertise to develop innovations, partnerships with other groups and start-ups on the blockchain, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and CMA CGM Ventures.

The strategy also includes reliance on ZEBOX, a start-up incubator and accelerator initiated by the CMA CGM Group and located in Marseilles, which will accommodate 30 start-ups by the end of the year.
