Damen Trading, a unit of Damen Marine Services, has sold a stock Damen Stan Pontoon (SPo) 6316 to GPS Marine Holding BV in Hulst, Netherlands.
Damen said that it was able to complete the transaction by delivering the vessel within two weeks of signing the contract.
GPS Marine Holding BV, a fully owned subsidiary of GPS Marine Holdings, will use the vessel to take part in a project scheduled in the north of the Netherlands at IJselmeer lake.
Several Damen vessels are already included in the fleet of GPS Marine such as two Stan Tug 1606s, two SPo 6020, a Shoalbuster 2709, and an SPo 3011.
Damen Trading senior sales manager Michel Radjiman said: “GPS Marine Contractors have a number of Damen vessels in their fleet. It’s great to see that they are adding another pontoon as they expand their business in the Netherlands. I’m grateful to John Spencer, MD of GPS, for once again, placing his trust in Damen. We trust this fourth barge will prove to be a valuable addition to their fleet and a continuation of a long-lasting relationship.
“I’d also like to thank Paul Verschure of Dutch Marine BV, John’s colleague in the Netherlands, for his expertise and technical assistance during the whole process. His professional performance definitely contributed to the speediness of this deal.”
Damen revealed that the vessel will be renamed to GPS 631 and will be registered in Hulst.
In preparation for the upcoming charter, the SPo 6316 was drydocked at Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam.
Before starting the original assignment, the vessel was tested with the loading and transporting of the 58m superyacht Amara.
Damen Trading focuses on the sale, purchase, and chartering of any type of second-hand vessel.
